An unusual fob from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This wonderful fob is made of sterling silver and portrays a 3-dimensional dog head, which rests atop a silver platform. At the base of the fob is a richly colored carnelian stone, which is smoothly polished into an octagonal shaped seal. The dog is highly detailed, including expressive facial features, a muzzle strapped around around its face, textured fur, and two red cabochon stones for eyes. The silver has a darkened antiqued look, adding depth to the design. At the top of the piece is a silver jump ring, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. A very artistic Victorian piece, this striking fob would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
Measurements: The fob hangs 1 1/2″ long, measures 3/4″ at the widest point, and 1/2″ at its thickest point. The base of the fob measures 1/2″ wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the piece is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling setting, carnelian seal, or cabochon stones, which are intact.
