These fabulous vintage cufflinks from the 1950s are signed by Cartier and manufactured by Larter and Sons of Newark New Jersey! Larter and Sons were jewelry makers in the 1800s when outsourcing first became the “trend” during this time. Larter and Sons manufactured jewelry for many designers including Tiffany & Co as well as Cartier. These stylish cufflinks are made of 18kt yellow gold and have a simple, timeless design. Each cufflink has a square-shaped face with rounded corners and a smooth, flat surface. A hinged airplane back can be found on the back, signed with the authentic “CARTIER” hallmark on one side and stamped “18K” beside a cufflink symbol (Larter and Sons hallmark) on the other. The underside of each cufflink face is also marked with the serial number “251.” The gold cufflink faces could be engraved with a set of initials, or left plain and smooth. A very attractive pair of cufflinks by a legendary maker, they would look excellent worn by a distinguished gentleman!
Measurements: The face of each cufflink measures approximately 1/2″ by 3/4″. The hinged bars on the back measure about 1/2″ long.
Condition: The overall condition of the cufflinks is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or hinged airplane backs.
