A beautiful and unusual moss agate ring from the Art Deco (ca1920) era! This gorgeous piece is crafted in sterling silver with 10kt yellow gold accents, and adorns a large moss agate stone at the center. The smoothly polished agate is translucent, displaying dark brown inclusions throughout that are mossy in shape, almost appearing to “float” within the stone. Surrounding the stone is a smoothly polished open-back bezel, surrounded by a delicate beadwork border, followed by a lovely etched outer border. The shoulders are accented with a classic Art Deco motif, which is embellished with yellow gold overlay, creating a wonderful two-tone appeal. Fine milgrained work outlines the design, adding a wonderful feminine touch. A smooth band wraps around the back, and stamped inside of the shank is “STERLING & 10K” beside a “C & C” maker’s mark. A naturally beautiful ring, it would make a special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The ring has a finger size 5.75, but could be easily resized. The moss agate centerpiece measures approximately 1″ tall, 5/8″ wide, and rests about 1/4″ above the finger. The silver band measures 1.5mm wide at the back.
Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver and yellow gold setting. The moss agate stone is intact, securely set, and free of chips or scratches.
