A lovely pair of hanging Etruscan ball earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Each gold-filled earring is comprised of a hollow ball link that hangs below a wire surmount. The earrings are beautifully decorated with fine Etruscan wirework and beadwork, which covers the entire surface, giving the earrings a strong Victorian look. Two smooth bands hug the center of each ball, adding the perfect finishing touch. A complimentary surmount and wire attaches to the top, giving the design lovely swinging movement. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear, the earrings would make a special everyday addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 1/8″ long, including the wire surmounts. Each Etruscan ball link measures 11mm in size.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold-filled setting or Etruscan details. The original natural patina remains on the surface of each earring, adding a darkened antique appearance that is characteristic of Victorian era jewelry. The wire surmounts are intact and securely attached.
