A beautiful and unique gold-filled chain from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! This wonderful antique piece is comprised of flowing, fancy wirework links that interlock to form a particularly long and stylish double-strand necklace. A large, gold-filled slide provides two openings for the links to move through, allowing for both chain lengths to easily be adjusted. The slide features a matching design on both sides, adorned with engraved details, two bezel set pearls, and decorative balls, a perfect complement to the stylish look. Thanks to the generous length, it can be easily slipped on and off overhead, no need for a clasp. A beautifully made piece, it is versatile enough for everyday wear, and is perfect for the antique jewelry lover’s collection!
Measurements: Each of the double-strand chains measures approximately 31″ long; the entire length measuring approximately 63″ when pulled straight. The links measure about 6mm wide. The slide measures 3/4″ wide including the decorative balls, about 1/2″ long, and 1/2″ deep.
Condition: The overall condition of the chain is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold-filled links and both pearls are intact. The slide is in good working condition, allowing the chain to move easily, but also stay secure once adjusted.
